Bringing a touch of magic to Gallagher’s customer services team

Monday, 13 November, 2023

Danielle Jamieson
Danielle is a big time Harry Potter fan. But while she can’t confirm whether she’s team Hufflepuff or Gryffindor (although there’s nothing wrong with Slytherin, she insists) she says it’s the Gallagher customer services team’s supportive environment that helps her create real magic for customers.

“I’ve never worked with such a great team; these people are just the best. I’m a big team player, and I enjoy working in collaboration and helping each other out instead of just working on my own.”

Team lunches happen on the regular. It’s not uncommon for someone to bring in food when everyone is in the office on a Wednesday. Plus, the team would never miss the opportunity to celebrate a colleague’s birthday, with everyone bringing along a plate of food to share.

Since Danielle joined Gallagher over a year ago as a repair administrator and her role integrated into customer services, working closely with her teammates not only makes her job enjoyable but makes it easier to do it well.

Each morning begins with a team meeting, where they catch up on the latest developments. Danielle and her team then dive into their tasks, which could involve processing repairs, handling phone queries, or even taking orders.

“One of the best parts of my job is being able to interact with people from all walks of life. Part of the job is dealing with customers coming into Gallagher to drop off items for repairs – so interacting with them face-to-face and being able to help them is wonderful.”

One of Danielle’s standout qualities is her keen eye for detail. She possesses a genuine curiosity about the problems that customers face and takes the time to understand the root causes. Instead of rushing to provide a solution, she first seeks to comprehend the "why" behind the issue. This curiosity and desire to keep learning has proven invaluable in her current role, as she relates to farmers and their needs.

“My grandparents have a small farm. The time I’ve spent with them has given me a basic understanding of the world of farming. Since joining Gallagher, I’ve had the opportunity to learn extensively about the industry and the intricacies of products like energizers and fencing units,” Danielle explains.

Joining Gallagher has deepened her connection to the agricultural world. Danielle is looking forward to getting out and doing farm visits with the territory managers and seeing first-hand how Gallagher’s products work on farm. This will see Danielle in her element.

“I absolutely love getting out and about in nature. In my spare time you’ll find me bushwalking and hiking. If I’m near water or walking through native forest, listening to the birds sing, then I’m in my happy place.

“There’s no such thing as a normal day,” says Danielle, but it’s this variety of work that brings her so much job satisfaction.

“I’ve learned so much since joining Gallagher, and I know that I’ve still got so much to learn, but that’s what I love about my job and working with this team.”
