Taniya Kemara

Taniya Kemara’s recipe for success in her career involves working smarter not harder!

Taniya is a Gallagher Customer Service Representative, but she’s also a keen baker. Whether it's perfecting cupcakes or nutting out the best way to tackle a problem for a farmer customer, mastering recipes is her forte.

Taniya is a problem solver. She likes to find ways to make systems and processes better - certainly for her farmer customers, but also for her colleagues in the wider Gallagher team.

Taniya started working at Gallagher in the Customer Service team two years ago. She was drawn to the job because of Gallagher’s reputation as an employer who cares about staff wellbeing and has a supportive working environment.

“It’s the kind of team environment where people will do anything to help each other because they are just good people,“ she says. “We’re here to solve issues and provide farmers with advice. The support is amazing and it’s one of the things I love most about working at Gallagher.”

Taniya’s day is busy and varied. She deals with multiple enquiries from farmers ranging from which Gallagher Energizer to use for a specific fencing job to fielding questions about geared reels. Then she might order replacement parts for customers or even pass on a few new product ideas to her colleagues that farmers share with her.

Every day in the Customer Service team is different,” says Taniya. Whether it’s farmers needing advice about our products or our internal teams needing help with processes, I thrive on providing a solution.”

Taniya’s role was recently expanded to include product pricing. She partners with Gallagher’s wider group Key Account Managers, who look after merchant customers like Farm Source or Farmlands, and Territory Managers in the regions to help manage product pricing and deal with pricing enquiries.

The things I do in a day are hugely varied and touch on nearly every facet of the business. I have such a supportive team, so it’s not like you’re doing it on your own or you are expected to know everything,” says Taniya.

Her natural talent for process improvement and her wizardry with Microsoft and SAP have also seen her step up to make important changes to the way the Gallagher team works – helping them work smarter not harder.

When she’s not helping farmers and her colleagues protect what matters most, Taniya indulges in her other passion – baking! Cupcakes and cakes are Taniya’s business, turning out 100s of cupcakes and 6 cakes every week for her clients.

Her culinary skills have earned her the title of Gallagher’s resident baker and she often brings in a few sweet treats to share with her Gallagher colleagues.

It’s such a great team here at Gallagher. I feel fortunate to have found my place.
