Camel Expo

Animal Management’s Hamilton-based Business Development Manager Owen Boyes spends time working to let people know about our solutions which can be used for animal species far beyond just sheep and cattle.

He has many stories where he’s worked to keep elephants, monkeys, leopards, deer and more out of villages, forests, crop and flower plantations throughout the world.

A recent project for a small but growing market in Saudi Arabia saw him understand, research, and build an electric fence for camels – a first as far as Owen knows. He did this at Head Office in Hamilton, and then made the 15,000 km trip to the country to test the fence and talk to potential customers at the largest camel expo in the world.

“It’s been a real success,” Owen says.“Not only was our product effective in keeping the camels contained, but it was also so popular that one consignment of product has already sold and we’ve just shipped a second order of fencing materials for customers that are waiting.”

The fence is made from the Gallagher Insulated Line Post, Turbo Rope, and a Portable Solar Fence Energizer.
