Mark Dempsey grew up on his family’s beef property near Inverell in northern New South Wales, where his passion for agriculture and rural communities first began. He attended Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School in Tamworth, serving as School Captain. After finishing school, Mark spent five years working across northern Australia on cattle stations and farming operations throughout Queensland and New South Wales, gaining hands-on experience in cattle, cropping and cotton enterprises, as well as working with contracting teams. With nearly 30 years on the job, Mark has spent more than half his career directly on the land, complemented by extensive experience working with retail and product manufacturing companies such as Nufarm, Elders, Landmark, Commonwealth Bank as well as private enterprise.
Mark has worked for Gallagher since 2022, initially with-in the core business selling livestock weighing and fencing systems before transitioning into the eShepherd team. Through this journey, Mark’s passion for agricultural technology has grown significantly, driven by his desire to help farmers adopt practical Ag-tech solutions that create meaningful improvements in both their operations and their quality of life. Mark now lives in northern New South Wales on a large cattle property with his family. Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors dirt biking, camping and spending time at the beach whenever he can.
