How did you come to work in agriculture?
An upbringing around farming, I spent every school holidays at a relatives farm in North East Victoria. This heavily influenced my decision to become a wool classer followed by an extensive career as a territory manager within the agricultural industry.
Who do you work with in your area the most?
My time is evenly spent visiting the following customers within my region: Rural resellers, mixed enterprise, beef producers, sheep & wool, equine, dairy and conservation projects.
What’s something you wish you could tell every farmer in your region?
The main problem faced by producers in my region, who utilise electric fencing, is issues with earthing. This may be due to limited knowledge of correct earthing requirements.
What is one Gallagher solution you recommend to every farmer you talk to?
The installation of electric fencing and best practice for improved pasture utilisation and for the exclusion of undesired species on farms.
Is there a time that stands out to you where you provided the most value to a famer?
There was a farmer struggling to control undesired species on the farm due to poor existing fencing. I recommended Gallagher Suspension Fence System and within days of sections of the fence being installed and powered - they started to observe a change in numbers of undesired animals within the completed sections of fencing. After completion of works they have noted improvements in livestock carrying capacity of the farm.

What do you do outside of work?
Fly Fishing in Victorian Central Highlands Lakes chasing rainbow and brown trout. Regularly spends time helping out relatives on their farm in North East Victoria. Spends time with family & many hours gardening! A keen reader of Australian Military History.
What does your typical weekend look like?
I’m on the road so much I like to spend my weekends at home.

Latte.
