During Australian Made Week, we had the opportunity to come together at our Norton site in Hastings, Victoria — recognising not just what we make locally, but who makes it happen.

Norton Livestock Handling Solutions has long been a trusted, Australian manufacturer of gates, yards, crushes and handling equipment, built on nearly 40 years of quality, innovation and family values. Since joining Gallagher, Norton has become an integral part of our broader Animal Management portfolio — strengthening our ability to deliver practical, end-to-end solutions for farmers.

Recent investment in the site, including lean manufacturing improvements, has significantly increased production capacity, reduced lead times, and improved consistency for customers — delivering real gains in productivity, performance and reliability on farm.

As mentioned by the team in our celebrations, 'we've moved from letting our customers know when we can deliver, to when do you need it delivered.'

But this week wasn’t just about Norton's manufacturing base.

It was a reminder that while Made in Australia, is a strong claim, the more powerful fact is our animal handling equipment and permanent yards are Made by Australians. From the workshop floor in Hastings to teams across the country, our people come from diverse backgrounds — regional and metro, different cultures, experiences and perspectives — united by a shared commitment to support Australian farmers.
