Gallagher's new Customer Service Representative - Melanie Pratt
We are delighted to welcome Melanie Pratt as the latest customer services representative to join our expanding team.
Melanie comes to Gallagher Animal Management as a recent graduate of Massey University, completing her Bachelor of Agricommerce degree in 2017.
She says she has had an interest in agribusiness for many years, having grown up on a dairy farm in Patetonga, just north of Morrinsville and Tahuna.
“My family have a dairy herd of about 430 Friesian cows, so dairy farming has always been a big part of my life. At the end of college, I realised there was more to farming than just milking cows, and that’s what sparked my interest in agribusiness,” says Melanie.
“I think I have a great understanding of how the industry works and that’s going to be really helpful for this role. I can see the hard work my own family has put into their farming business over the years, and that’s given me a greater appreciation of what companies like Gallagher can do to help them.”
Melanie’s day to day role includes processing orders and supporting end users and dealers. She’s also the first port of call for Northland farming customers. She enjoys helping people and building relationships and is looking forward to getting to know Gallagher’s customers and dealers better over the coming months.
Joining Gallagher in early-April, she says there is still a lot to learn, but she is thoroughly enjoying the job so far and is looking forward to broadening her knowledge and skills.
“Gallagher is different to anything I have experienced in my career so far. It’s a large business and everyone has a role to play in its success. I’m truly grateful for the support of my team so far,” she adds.
When she’s not at work, Melanie thrives on being outdoors. She enjoys exploring and discovering new places, including beaches and bushwalks in and around the broader Waikato region.
We are delighted to welcome you to Gallagher Animal Management, Melanie. It’s great to have you on the team.
