Born-and-bred Southlander Jamie Mckenzie, Southland Territory Manager, started at Gallagher in 2013.

Jamie joined the Gallagher Group after four years as Southland manager for timber supply company Goldpine. Prior to that he was employed in the meat industry where he held a range of positions, including supervisory roles.

His experience in the meat industry and with Goldpine has given Invercargill-raised Jamie a sound understanding of farming in the Southland region.

“I still live in Invercargill but I don’t think of myself as a townie because most of my work has been in the rural service sector.”  Jamie’s employment at Goldpine, which has a large farming client base, provided him with a good introduction to Gallagher electric fencing products.

“I’ve got lots of respect for Gallagher products and for the company and its people. I really enjoy getting out there and meeting face to face with farmers and lifestyle blockers to help them find the right electric fencing and EID solutions.

”Jamie has four children- Tuki, 21, Tre, 15, Caleb, 12, and Summer, 2. His wife Kylie, another born and bred Southlander, works for the Invercargill City Council.  “Invercargill is a great place to bring up a family. And I’ve always loved Southland for the recreational opportunities it offers.”

Jamie loves diving and he is a big rugby fan. A former rugby player and keen Southland supporter, he enjoys watching his boys play the game. He is a former coach of the Marist Club’s premier side and last year he coached the Southland Secondary Girls Team, which took top place in the South Island competition.
