Monday, 10 December, 2018
In December 2018 Nathan Pennicott joined Gallagher as the new Territory Manager for Southland.
Nathan is new to the agricultural industry but has a strong background in sales and is eager to get out into the region and meet with clients.
Prior to joining Gallagher, Nathan worked for 22 years in the hospitality industry – 11 of which were for iconic brewery and beverage company Lion New Zealand.
His people skills, developed in his previous career as Sales Executive for Lion, will transfer nicely to his new role says Nathan.
“An important part of the job of a Territory Manager is building and growing relationships, which is something I pride myself on,” he says. “I’m looking forward to building quality relationships that add value for both our customers and Gallagher.”
Nathan says one reason he was attracted to join Gallagher was the value the company puts on customers. “At its heart, Gallagher is all about people and building relationships. For me, I’m really looking forward to listening to farmers, trying to understand and meet their needs, and developing those strong relationships over time.”
Gallagher has 10 territory managers employed across the country, from Northland to Southland, providing nationwide system selection advice, training, and support to clients.
Day-to-day Nathan will be meeting with retail partners and customers, travelling around Southland (from Queenstown to Bluff).
“Territory managers are a crucial link between production at head office with those on the ground selling and using the products,” adds Nathan.
Nathan says Gallagher has a great suite of products to suit the needs of New Zealand farmers. “I am proud to be working for a company that sells quality products backed by quality customer service,” he says.
Nathan grew up in Invercargill and has lived and worked in the Southland region for most of his life. He’s looking forward to immersing himself into the farming sector having been heavily involved in the past through work, community events, and sport.
“I’m really looking forward to working for Gallagher and building on the great work that the team has done over the years.”
Nathan and his wife Katie live in Invercargill with their teenage son Cairo. When he isn’t travelling through Southland visiting clients you’ll find Nathan racing on his mountain bike or taking his trusty motorbike for a journey up the mainland.
