Territory Manager - Tasmania

GAU Justin Cooper-General Purpose
After growing up on a King Island superfine wool property, Justin did a fitting and machining apprenticeship then worked on farms across south-east Australia — including some large Western Victorian wool properties running 42,000-50,000 sheep.
Itchy feet saw him travel overseas for several years. First stop was North America, harvesting wheat from Texas into Canada in summer, then hauling cattle to the warmer southern states in the winter. In South America, he spent a year backpacking and working on some big sheep properties.
After 10 months in the UK on a mixed farm, Justin came back and spent two years in Northern Territory underground goldmines and a further two years driving long-haul trucks moving mining machinery.
In 2010, he moved back to Tassie and ran his own fencing-contracting business for five years, doing a course and becoming a Gallagher-preferred contractor.
While he'd enjoyed fencing contracting, Justin was keen to see where else he could achieve in agribusiness.
He enjoys the TM role — with its strong focus on people, technology and primary production — as the perfect use of his skills.
