Chris has worked for Gallagher on both sides of The Ditch, spending seven years as a TM in Canterbury on New Zealand's South Island before his Queensland role.
"It was too good an opportunity to turn down — despite a lack of pivot irrigation and teaching the use of Flashmate Electronic Heat Detectors on dairy cattle!"
Growing up on a sheep-and-beef farm in Tapawera, a major South Island horticultural region, Chris's favourite subject at school was rugby. After finishing, he went from labouring on-farm to working for a rural co-operative owned by 50,000 farmers, firstly managing its second-biggest NZ store for a few years, then heading out on the road as a managing technical field officer.
"I love working with Gallagher because it's still a family-owned business, they treat staff very well, and have an exceptional product that's recognised worldwide. Knowing that I work for a company that excels is really great and we're so diverse now."
